terms of service

hoodhop terms of service

Effective date: [DATE]

1. acceptance

By connecting a wallet to hoodhop or starting a run, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not play. These terms are a binding agreement between you and [OPERATOR ENTITY], referred to here as the operator, we, or us.

2. eligibility

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] years old to play. hoodhop is not available to anyone located in, resident in, or accessing the game from [RESTRICTED JURISDICTIONS]. Do not use a VPN, proxy, or any other method to hide your location or get around a restriction.

Gambling law is local. You are responsible for knowing whether playing hoodhop is legal where you are, and you play at your own risk. Nothing here is legal advice.

3. the operator

hoodhop is operated by [OPERATOR ENTITY]. Contact: [CONTACT].

4. the game

hoodhop is a game of chance played with $RICH tokens on Robinhood Chain. You pick a ladder, lock a bet in the HoodHop smart contract, and climb one row at a time. Every row has exactly one death tile. A safe tile raises your multiplier. The death tile ends the run and the bet is lost.

The house edge is 4.00%. It is applied once, at payout: payout = bet x cumulative multiplier x 0.96. Over time the expected result of play is a loss. Play for entertainment, not for income.

5. non-custodial

We never hold your funds. Bets and the bankroll live in the HoodHop smart contract. The website and the game server cannot move your tokens. Winnings are paid by the contract directly to the wallet that started the game. There is no account and no custody, so there is no balance for us to credit, freeze, or return outside of what the contract itself does.

6. your wallet and your session key

You are responsible for your wallet, your private keys, your seed phrase, and the browser session key hoodhop generates for a run. That session key can only sign picks for one game and never holds funds, but anyone with access to your browser can use it to play out your open run. We cannot recover a lost key, reverse a transaction, or undo a pick. Anything signed by your wallet or your session key is treated as your action.

7. bets are final

Once a start transaction confirms, the bet is locked and final. No refunds, no cancellations, and no goodwill credits for a lost run, a misclick, a dropped connection, or a change of mind.

The only refund path is the protocol timeout. If a game is not settled within 2 hours, you can refund your bet directly from the contract. If you walk away mid-game without cashing out, your bet is returned and no multiplier is paid: the operator may close the game after 2 hours and anyone may close it after 4 hours, in both cases returning your bet. The only ways to be paid a multiplier are a signed cash out or clearing the whole ladder.

Payment happens on-chain, so chargebacks and payment reversals do not exist. Do not attempt them.

8. limits

Limits are enforced by the contract, not by us, and are checked at the moment your game starts. Free bankroll means $RICH held by the contract minus the locked liabilities of games still open.

  • Max bet: 1% of free bankroll.
  • Max payout per game: the lesser of your bet times the ladder top multiplier (after edge) and 10% of free bankroll, snapshotted and locked as a liability when the game starts.
  • Circuit breaker: net outflow from the bankroll is capped at 25% of the window-start bankroll per 24 hours. If the cap is reached, winning settlements are delayed to the next window. Nothing is forfeited.
  • Your payout is the lesser of bet x multiplier and the max payout. A run can climb past the cap. The cap still applies.

9. settlement and payout

Settlement happens on-chain. The operator submits the seed and your signed pick sequence, the contract recomputes every death tile, and it pays exactly what the math says. We do not decide who won. Network congestion, RPC failure, or operator downtime can delay settlement, and the 2-hour timeout in section 7 is your protection against that.

10. provably fair

Every game uses commit-reveal, and the reveal is public forever in the contract's Settled event. You have the right to verify any game you played, and any game anyone else played, without asking us. The fairness page walks through the steps. If your verification shows a mismatch, contact us at [CONTACT].

11. prohibited conduct

Do not run bots, scripts, or automation against the game server. Do not probe or exploit the contract, the server, or the fairness scheme. Do not use multiple wallets or addresses to get around the max bet or max payout limits. Do not interfere with other players. Do not use hoodhop to launder funds or to break the law where you live.

We may block an address from the site and from server-side pick answering at any time. Games already open stay settleable or refundable on-chain.

12. disclaimers

hoodhop is provided as is and as available. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or that the game server will answer in time. Smart contracts carry risk, including bugs, exploits, and permanent loss of funds. Robinhood Chain can halt, reorg, or congest.

$RICH is a meme coin. It is volatile, it has no intrinsic value, no yield, and no promise of any value at all. Nothing on this site is an investment, an offer of securities, or financial advice.

13. limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, [OPERATOR ENTITY] and everyone working on it are not liable for lost bets, lost profits, lost tokens, gas spent, contract failure, chain failure, wallet compromise, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount of the single bet that the claim is about.

14. taxes

Any tax on winnings is yours to work out, report, and pay. We do not withhold tax, report to any authority, or issue tax documents.

15. changes to these terms

We can change these terms. The current version lives at this URL and the effective date at the top tells you when it last changed. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.

Changing these terms never changes the contract. The house edge, the ladders, the multipliers, the timeouts, and the max bet and max payout ratios are immutable on-chain.

16. governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW], without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute goes to the courts of [GOVERNING LAW].

17. contact

house rules

house rules

Pick a block. Lock a bet in $RICH. Climb one row at a time. Every row hides exactly one death tile. Hit a safe tile and your multiplier climbs, hit the death tile and the bet is gone.

the three blocks

Tile counts are listed bottom row to top row. Fewer tiles means fewer places to hide.

  • LOW HEAT, 24 rows: 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3
  • MID HEAT, 20 rows: 5, 5, 5, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2
  • HIGH HEAT, 15 rows: 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2

the math

Per-row base = T / (T - 1), where T is the tile count for that row. Your cumulative multiplier is every cleared row's base multiplied together.

Worked example. A 5-tile row pays a base of 5 / 4 = 1.25x. Clear three 5-tile rows in a row and you are at 1.25 x 1.25 x 1.25 = 1.953x before the edge. Apply the edge, 1.953 x 0.96, and your payout multiplier is 1.875x.

The house edge is 4.00%, taken once at payout, never per row. Payout = bet x cumulative multiplier x 0.96.

The contract stores the multipliers as fixed point, computed at deploy. The site and the server read them from the contract, they never recompute them.

limits

Free bankroll is the $RICH sitting in the contract minus the locked liabilities of games still running. Both limits are enforced by the contract and checked at the second your game starts.

  • Max bet: 1% of free bankroll.
  • Max payout per game: the lesser of your bet times the top multiplier of the ladder (after edge) and 10% of free bankroll, snapshotted and locked when you start.
  • You are paid the lesser of bet x multiplier and that max payout. Climb past the cap and the cap still holds.

cashing out

Cash out any time after at least one safe row. One safe row is the minimum, there is no maximum, and nobody is coming to tell you when to stop.

timeouts

  • Game not settled within 2 hours? You refund your bet straight from the contract. That is your protection if the operator goes dark.
  • Walk away mid-run and you get your bet back, not the multiplier. After 2 hours the operator can close the run and return your bet; after 4 hours anyone can. The only ways to be paid a multiplier are a signed cash out or clearing the whole ladder, so cash out before you leave.
  • Circuit breaker: in any 24 hour window the contract will not let more than 25% of the bankroll (measured at the start of the window) leave on net. It exists to bound the damage if the operator key is ever stolen. If it trips, winning settlements wait for the next window; nothing is lost.
  • A seed can never be used twice. The contract rejects a settlement that reuses one.

session keys

Your browser generates a session key at start so you are not signing a wallet popup on every tile. It can only sign picks for that one game. It never touches funds. Clear your browser data mid-run and you lose it, so cash out first.

gas

You pay gas on the start transaction. The operator pays gas on settlement, win or lose. Refunds you claim yourself under the timeout rule are on you.

how the fairness works

how the fairness works

Every hoodhop run is locked before you touch a tile, and the proof goes on-chain when it ends. You do not have to trust us. You can check the math yourself.

It is commit-reveal. We commit to the board before you play, you add randomness we cannot predict, and the contract recomputes everything at the end.

step by step

  1. The server rolls a random 32 byte seed for your game and keeps it secret. It publishes only the commit, which is keccak256(seed, player, ladder). The operator signs that commit with an EIP-712 signature.
  1. You send the start transaction. It carries the signed commit and your own random clientSeed, and the commit is stored on-chain. The seed is now locked. We picked it before we knew your clientSeed, you picked your clientSeed after we were already committed. Neither side can steer the board.
  1. The death tile for row r is uint(keccak256(seed, clientSeed, r)) mod T_r, where T_r is the number of tiles in that row. Every tile on the board is already decided at this point. Nothing is rolled when you click.
  1. Your browser makes a session key and registers it at start. It signs every pick, EIP-712 over the gameId, your cumulative picks, and the cashout flag. The server only answers safe or dead for a pick it has a valid signature for. It never holds funds.
  1. Settlement is on-chain. The operator submits the seed plus your signed pick sequence. The contract recomputes every death tile from that seed, checks it against the commit already stored, and pays exactly what the math says.
  1. The reveal is public forever. The seed, the clientSeed and the picks land in the Settled event. Anyone can re-verify any game, yours or a stranger's, years later.

what nobody can do

The operator cannot move a tile after the commit, cannot see your picks coming when the seed is chosen, and cannot fake a loss, because settling needs your session key signature on the picks.

You cannot see the tiles, because the seed stays hidden until settlement, and you cannot fake a win, because the payout is recomputed from the seed the contract already committed to.

Neither side can pick the board alone. The commit locks us. The clientSeed locks you.

verify a game yourself

  1. Pull the game's Settled event from the explorer. It gives you the seed, the clientSeed, the ladder, and your picks.
  2. Read the commit stored on-chain for that gameId.
  3. Hash keccak256(seed, player, ladder) yourself. It must equal that stored commit. If it does, the seed is the one we committed to before you played.
  4. For each row r, compute uint(keccak256(seed, clientSeed, r)) mod T_r. Use the tile count for that row from the ladder in the house rules. That is the death tile.
  5. Compare against your picks. Your run should end on the first row where your pick equals the death tile, and survive every row before it.
  6. Check the money. Multiply the per-row bases for every row you cleared, base = T / (T - 1), then multiply by your bet and by 0.96 for the 4.00% edge. Compare to what the contract paid, capped by the max payout snapshotted at start. Also check the seed was never used before: the contract refuses to settle a reused seed.

Same numbers every time, or something is wrong. If it does not match, bring us the gameId at [CONTACT].

responsible play

play smart

hoodhop is gambling. Not staking, not farming, not a strategy. Every row has one death tile and the house edge is 4.00%, so the longer you play, the more the math leans against you. Nobody beats that with a system, a hot streak, or a feeling.

That is not a disclaimer we are burying at the bottom. It is the deal. Play it for the rush, size it so a loss is nothing, and log off.

set your limits before you connect

Decide two numbers before your first run, not during your fifth.

  • A loss limit. The amount you are fine never seeing again tonight.
  • A time limit. When it hits, you close the tab, win or lose.

Write them down. Bets are final once the transaction confirms, so the only place limits work is before you press start.

never bet what you need

Do not bet rent. Do not bet groceries, tuition, the car note, or money someone else is counting on. Do not bet borrowed money, and never sell or borrow against something you need to keep playing.

If losing the bet would change your week, the bet is too big.

signs it stopped being fun

Be honest if any of these sound like you.

  • Chasing. Betting bigger to win back what you just lost.
  • Hiding it. Lying about how much you play or how much you are down.
  • Borrowing to play, or dipping into money set aside for something else.
  • Playing to escape stress, boredom, or a bad day instead of for fun.
  • Telling yourself one more run, over and over.
  • Losing sleep, missing work, or ducking people because of it.

One of these is a warning. Three of these is a problem, and it does not fix itself.

take a break

Close the tab. Disconnect the wallet. Move the $RICH you are not playing with to a wallet you do not use here. A break is not a loss of face, it is the only move with positive expected value in the whole game.

self-exclusion

If you want out, we can help you make it harder to come back. Email [CONTACT] from any channel you control and ask us to block your address. We will block it from the site and from server-side pick answering.

Two honest limits on that. It is not permanent unless you tell us it is, and we cannot block the blockchain. The contract stays public, so any open game of yours stays settleable or refundable, and a determined person can always find another address. Self-exclusion is a speed bump for a moment of weakness, not a wall. If you need a wall, you need the next section.

get real help

Talking to someone who does this for a living beats reading a page on a website.

  • [LOCAL HELPLINE]
  • [LOCAL HELPLINE]

Free, confidential, and they have heard it all before. Nothing you say will surprise them.

age

You must be at least [MINIMUM AGE] to play hoodhop. If you are under that, this is not for you. Come back later.

privacy

privacy

Short version: there is no account, so there is not much to collect. Here is exactly what exists.

what we see on-chain

When you connect a wallet and start a run, we see your wallet address, your bets, your picks, your payouts, and your transaction history with the HoodHop contract.

None of that is private to begin with. It is written to Robinhood Chain, a public ledger, and anyone with a block explorer can read it forever. We do not have special access, we just read the same chain you do. Treat your wallet address as public.

what the game server logs

To answer picks and keep bots and abuse off the game, the server logs:

  • your IP address
  • timestamps for requests
  • the wallet address and game id a request relates to
  • the session key address registered for a game, and the signed picks it sends

That is anti-abuse and debugging data. We keep it for as long as it is useful for that, then it goes. We do not build profiles with it and we do not use it for advertising.

what your browser stores

Locally, on your device, hoodhop stores a session key for your current run and your preferences, things like sound on or off and your last ladder. It stays in your browser. Clearing site data wipes it, which also wipes the session key for any run still open, so cash out first.

what we do not collect

No accounts. No email. No password. No name. No KYC, no ID upload, no selfie, no document of any kind. No fiat rails, so no card or bank details ever touch this site.

third parties

Using hoodhop means talking to services we do not control:

  • WalletConnect relay, if you connect that way. Your wallet and the relay see connection data.
  • A Robinhood Chain RPC provider, to read state and send transactions. RPC providers can see your IP and the requests you make.
  • Block explorers, if you click a transaction link. That is their site and their rules.

Each of those has its own privacy policy. We do not control what they keep.

selling data

We do not sell your data. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers or data brokers. There is no ad network on this site.

We may disclose logs if a valid legal order compels us, and we may use them to investigate abuse or an exploit against the contract.

changes

If this notice changes, the updated version lives at this URL.
